PROGRAM 1  Ethics on Trial

In the great Dickens tradition, a visit from three wise Home Health Aide ghosts helps our Aide realize that changing her ways will save her (and her job). Our Aide finds herself steeped in a legal battle and stuck in a rut… poor communication with the client, work habits which are lacking in responsibility and conviction, and she could be heading for worse. What or who can save her? A meaningful drama that demonstrates common problems faced by many Aides and  ways in which they can improve relationships with clients while strengthening their work ethic.

PROGRAM 2  Nutrition: Basics of Healthy Eating  

Meal planning, shopping, food preparation/storage, and feeding dependent clients are among the topics of this fresh, very usable video. Practical information and demonstrations are enhanced by impressive graphics and animations. Join us as we travel to the grocery store and then tune in to our "Italian chef’s" cooking show as she instructs the viewer in healthy food choices and preparation.

PROGRAM 3  Safety in the Home 

A very important function of the Home Health Aide is to promote a safe environment for the client in the home setting. Follow our four detectives and their Chief as they investigate the four main aspects of Environmental Management: basic human needs, safety and physical hazards, transmission of pathogens, and sanitation. Specific interventions to control the client’s environment which promote optimal functioning and wellness are presented effectively with the help of graphics and light humor.

PROGRAM 4  Activities of Daily Living  

Is it a strange life-form from another time and place? No, just a client in need of a little TLC and some ADLs. Bed baths, foot and mouth care, shampooing the client in bed, shower safety, and other daily care activities are demonstrated. In addition to the practical information offered in the video, the viewer will witness the client’s impressive "transformation."

PROGRAM 5  Special Needs of the Elderly

With the narration and insight of ventriloquist David Pendleton and his elderly Aunt Tilly, this video will assist the Home Health Aide in caring for their elderly clients with competence and compassion. Dealing with the physical and psychological changes related to the aging process and how best to meet the needs of the elderly client are the focus of this informative and enjoyable learning program.

PROGRAM 6  Care of the Cardiac Patient 

This video program is based on the National Association of Home Care (NAHC) Core Curriculum for Training Home Care Aides. Focusing on the Home Health Aide as the core of the homecare industry, the video covers vital information related to the role of the Aide. Included are insightful discussions on communication skills, proper documentation, Patient’s Rights, body mechanics, teaching and much more.

PROGRAM 7   Care of the Respiratory Patient

This unique video cleverly demonstrates the basic process of breathing in a healthy respiratory system and explains the changes that occur with emphysema, chronic bronchitis and COPD. Then the video goes a step further to outline the specific needs and problems of these clients and to clearly define the Home Health Aide’s responsibilities in providing a high quality of care for these clients.
